First impressions, I have to say maybe your right.  But I was only in for 15 minutes before moving on.

Very nice pub.

It is a lovely pub in the centre of Selby and had quite a few people in the lunchtime that i visited. It still had both Alpine and Taddy lager available as well. Meals were been served to, which is different to many Sam's pub's lately.

Hopped off the train on our way home to visit this pub again.

Travelling back home yesterday I found that I got the wrong train and had to get off in Selby. I had 35 minutes to wait so I popped around to visit the Cricketers.  It was 4pm and the place was quite full.  The managers of 2 months are new to the trade  but do seem to be making a go of it.

More new managers, seems to gettingt through quite alot at the moment. Lovely flowers by the fire place. Wonder who paid for them
