It's a very bad deal - Wetherspoons don't employ couples - that's a single person salary.

However, I do agree that the pay is an absolute pitance.  Does anyone know how it compares to other pub groups with managed pubs?  What does a JD Wetherspoon manager get paid?

Wetherspoons managers are on a starting salary of ?21,000, and an average of ?27,500. They get an allowance for living OFF the premises, up to 50% of their salary in bonuses, paid monthly, Medical scheme, Free food on duty, childcare vouchers.... need I say more?!

Is ?21,000 per person or for a "couple"?  I bet you don't have to work 80 hours to do your job either.

Per person. I know one manager who runs one of the city centre Wetherspoons and she's on around ?40,000 including bonuses.

I belive that is the starting salary a few years ago, i understand that the rate for some now is around the ?25k mark for a couple. One couple that i know are working for Sams, at about the 45k mark as a couple. Not fully sure how the bonus system works with Sams. But i know another couple that got a ?15k bonus one year, this was then a busy pub.

Some pretty negative reviews of teh present manager that has recently started at the pub. Such a shame as it is a lovely pub in a great location.
