Thanks for the reply, but has anybody actually put this to weights and measures or a solicitor, a union or even the LVA?

As I understand it a 95% full glass is acceptable in law. When Labour were elected they had promised to make short measures illegal but they have not pursued this. I know CAMRA have had several campaigns to press for 100% but the brewing industry are resisting this for obvious reasons.

The point is that if Humphrey wants to keep this 5% for Sams, then pubs are allowed no wastage whatsoever, which is impossible. Also the manager would have to pay for his own beer, losing what seems to have always been regarded as one of the few perks of the job. To meet the 95% target pints of both beer and lager are being served at 10% short or more. I regularly ask for a top up now, as do many other customers. The beer may be cheap but why should we line Humphrey's pocket!

Wether H S is legally asking for 5% or not all new managers and ones who have moved recently have signed contracts of employment saying they WILL give him 5%
For those who understand, no explanation is needed.
For those who don't understand, no explanation is possible.

95% beer,5% is head.  Right got that, but is the head just fresh air? umm no it isn't! it to is beer and a pint served as Humps and the law sets out will settle to about 97% liquid if left to stand. as Humps says we serve most of our pints with a traditional head .SO WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR 5% SURPLUS ON DRAUGHT PRODUCTS FROM HUMPS? ( could it be from F.OB who hasn't got a C.L.U.E.!)

A certain stocktaker who was/is lovely used 2 tell us 2 top up our vodka bottles with sainsburys finest so we would get our 5% and keep HRWS happy. REALITY perfection doesn't exist, people make mistakes, pour wrong/ bad pints(ie not 5% head esp with those stupid pure/wheat glasses), tills don't always balance,  etc etc etc
