Not much time to post as I'm off out into the real world.

What is the real world mghunky.

I've been  married for 37 years (to a women), have 2 children who both work very hard for a living. I've paid more than my fair share of tax.  Never asked for anything off anybody in life. I've just got on with it.

So yes your right, I don't live in "your" world.

ian.

PS I've been to..................http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Castro,_San_Francisco  Have you?

PPS Went into Old Red Loin at 7pm on Saturday while waiting for my train.   Spent a nice hour with very good beer.

A note to Max .    I don't mind Mghunky having a go at me and you can leave his post on the forum for me.

Ian.

A post from the topic Re: old red rion leeds seems to have slipped into this topic.

Strange.

Ian's posts are always well thought out and considered. Firstly, Why is this fool mghunky having a go at him, second, why is he trying to  hijack a thread about something completely different to the grievance he's posted?  We don't care if you're gay or straight mate, and frankly I don't care if you're welcome or not welcome in the Red Lion, but it strikes me that people who flaunt their sexuality in public leave themselves open to being evicted from pubs which have to cater for everyone.  Not everyone wants their share of the 'pink pound'.

Right,I have more time now.

First let me say, I hope max did't ban mghunky just for having a go at me.

mghunky, you could right when you say "you need to get out more into the real world" Yes I do lead a boring life relationship wise, Been married for 37+ years have two good and well balanced children who both now live and work aboard. Never been in a fight since leaving school 47 years ago. Never been in trouble with the police apart from 2 speeding tickets, Yorkshire, and New South Wales. Mghunky yes I can see that maybe you do have a more exciting life then me and if it suits you then so be it.

I don't believe in any of my posts was I getting at you or gays, but if you see it like that, then I apologise to you. I could not care less if people are gay or not as long as they don't ram it down my throat.

I post on here as I see things and in the last 2 weeks I've been in the Old Red Lion 3 times, now I don't go out of my way looking for gays, but I do believe on 2 of my visits gays where in the pub. People have told me that I see the world through rose tinted glasses, and to be  honest I like it that way.

mghunky if you don't mind I would like to add.............

You would get  a better response on this forum if you wasn't so aggressive in your posts,  You seem to post with a chip on your shoulder.

mghunky you want to thank your lucky stars you live in Britain and not Angola.  I do not know if you saw the BBC3 documentary about gays in Angola, but it was very moving to watch the persecution of the gays in that country.

I do hope you will continue to post, but please stick to the facts that you know are right and not hearsay. Most people on here know that manager's cannot come on here to defend themself's so it's all a bit one sided.

ian.

I'm sure I saw Humphrey walking to work on Wednesday morning.
He had his wellies on as normal. He was also wearing a large flat cap - so I couldn't tell 100% if it was him or his brother.

There has been lots of mentions on this forum of Humphrey walking about Tadcaster and its environs in wellies, some quite mockingly.  However, if he chooses not to use his car and walk, surely this is good and environmentally friendly.  Wellies, in this case, are fine for walking across muddy Yorkshire fields.

I'm sure I saw Humphrey walking to work on Wednesday morning.

It was mentioned in these forums some time ago, that Humphs decided to walk to and from the brewery, after he became aware of the tax implications associated with using his vehicle to drive there and back. But of course this is just unfounded rumour.

Never the less, it certainly makes sense from an environmental point of view (as mentioned by DB) and also from a health point of view - in relation to good healthy exercise.
