Hi All im New round here!!! ...... Glad i found this forum! Very intresting read!

Having supped Sam smiths OB for over 20 years i have to say im Dismayed at the Way Humph is going about running the brewery.

Im considering a boycott of SAMS pubs if he carries on Treating managers the way he does! Used to enjoy going into their pubs but when you see managers at the end of their tether coz theyre just too tired to do the job then something has to give!!

I guess i had a lucky escape i very nearly applied to become a manager with them ..... So Glad i didnt!

Cant beat a well kept pint of OB!!! i used to be a regular in a couple of Sams Pubs in scunthorpe.

Do you ever go in Sinclair's Oyster Bar in Manchester?  The last time I was home I went in but only the bar was open due to a refurb...do you know if it has changed much?

A good pint of OBB is fine, but I've found it a bit off par of late, so I've been drinking Mix (Sovereign and Mild).  It's keg, but still not too bad.

Never been to any of the pubs in Scunthorpe...did you ever get down to Widow Cullen's Well in Lincoln?

Not been in the Oyster bar fer a few years now .... never seem to be in the mood for a drink when im up that end of the city!

Last time i was in the OB was great maybes ill get down to try it again this weekend if i can persuade the other half he dont like Sam smiths lager!

Unfortunately, the last time I was in, the OBB had been removed.  I was hoping that someone could tell me whether it is back or not as it might have just been removed for the refurbishment.

Just to clarify, being a real ale drinker I meant OBB on cask, not keg!

Probably gonna get shot down for this But after an unfortunate incident Xmas eve 1990 day after my 18th birthday i was in the Queen Bess scunthorpe and decided to try the Handpulled OB.

Lets say it wasnt kept right ...... I was Ill the next day and havent been able to sup OB on handpull since!

But i shall let you know if they have the Handpull back!

Well you will not care for Sinclair's now then. On tap Taddy Bitter, Taddy Lager plus the other usual suspects. NO OBB.

PS make sure you ask for a 'top up' before you leave the bar and wait for the reaction, can be comical

I understand the Kings Arms had cask taken out as soon as the brewery started doing keg as casks floating around in the regular floods meant all the beer was ruined!
