Suggestion.
« on: Apr 26 - 2011 »
May I make a suggestion?, no offence taken if not suitable. A few days ago there was mention of some people joining and then after maybe one posting never to be heard of again. Would I be right in thinking that it's maybe to do with having nothing to say, after all I sometimes find it a struggle to think of a comment to make. As we are all pub regulars, why not have a pub banter forum? just as you would in a pub, it's often been said that the world is put to rights in a pub. This would keep things ticking over and keep us all in touch.

Yes, some people only make one or two comments and that is not a bad thing nor an unusual thing either.

Royal Wedding? The news made me laugh, millions spent on security and checking drains and even pedestrian crossing boxes. Then they went on to say that police marksmen would be stationed on rooftops, I hope they have been vetted well.

So you will NOT be taking the day off to celebrate. Mind you one will need to watch it in some other hostelry? 8)

I can't think of anything I have ever cared less about so I think I'll be seeking refuge with a glass of Alpine. Or two.

I'm fed up already with it all, being on the telly all the time. I've yet to meet anybody who is remotely interested in it.

It's enough to drive you to drink!

I suppose its ok for the American tourists, throwing confetti in someone else's country instead
of  bombs, it will make a change for them. For the rest of us its a non-event although it will take the publics attention away from the nasty things we are doing in Libya.

I went to several Wold village pubs over the weekend and many seemed to have a day of events planned with live music, games, parties, etc.

If you deal with it right, you can make money out of it.

I'll be going for a countryside walk and then into a nearby village real ale pub so I wont be going to York and no Sams, do you realise the sacrifice I have made so that my wife can watch the Royal wedding, and if it's on the telly there I'll be extending my walk.

I am a very irregular poster but an avid reader, may I suggest a chat room, something like phriek chat or one such other, I used to be a manager of an msn chat forum and know it gave people a reason to log on and air their views, I know the days of chat rooms are gone but there are links that can be attached to sites like these that give the readers and posters a place to vent. Only a suggestion, but it would give people a right to reply surely and to stay anon. Again just a suggestion thanks
