Well it looks like our journalist friend Jo as got fed up with this forum. Although Jo says "we are talking about the name of a pub, that's all,"  I see she's still got her knickers in a twist over the Cardinal and is twittering faster then Tweetie Pie out of Tom and Jerry.

Funny how she's made loads of tweets about the pub, but real news like 'Westminster drops plans to criminalise rough sleepers on Independent Catholic News' only get one mention.

Er, no mate, it's not you.  Cloudy belongs to wheat beers, scrumpy, and cask beer that's not settled properly or been knocked!

The side street of the now former Windsor Castle is called Windsor Place.  So, either the pub was named after the street, or the street was named after the pub, priior to it being renamed The Cardinal.  I beieve that this is evidence to support its original name.  Photo below.

One thing dose baffle me, If he's a Guinness drinker can anybody tell me, when did Sam's start selling Guinness? Or is this a case of a non-customer of Sams just jumping on the band wagon?

Have stayed out of this debate so far as haven't had anything to add that hasn't already been said, but the writer of this letter seems to be unaware that SS haven't sold Guinness for a number of years, and they also seem to be unaware that SS wine is terrible !
Also, not sure what good any petition would do now as the pub has already been re-named and is re-opening imminently ! Can't see SS changing it back, somehow !

I don't think that he is not implicitly stating that he drinks Guinness in a Samuel Smith's pub, just that he is a Guinness drinker.
