Tiger Haxby
« on: Aug 2 - 2011 »
Not posted for a long time but I have kept myself up to date. I understand that the Tiger had a Police raid on Sunday night just before closing time, I was not in myself but I have had it confirmed. Just wondered if anybody had heard anything but more importantly if anyone knew the reason for their visit.

A guy who regularly drinks in the pub had a bit of a domestic with his ex, rumour has it a knife was brandished (not in the pub) armed police & dogs were used to apprehend him in the lane at the side of the pub some time later...............

So not a raid on the pub?  All's well then!

Thanks for the updates, glad it was nothing to do with the pub.

please get the facts right. ive been in tiger today and spoke to people i know.
the event took place outside the pub in the lane next to it .
the bloke in question  is now (i`m led to believe )   an ex regular.
the event or even part of it did not take place in the tiger.

It's my turn to get the beer in samsdrinker. I nearly popped in on Sunday Dinner. But we went to the Cafe/ Bar at Linton Lock for a bloody coffee instead. :'(

Samsdrinker are you in tomorrow afternoon (Saturday)  About the same time as I saw you last time. I believe it was around 2pm wasn't it?

I've just found out that I've nowt on tomorrow and I have not had a proper drink for 4 weeks now.  :'(

If Bitterman & Bertie B is in all the better, and maybe Whizz will see this and get himself out of the York Arms for once. ;D

Whizz if you are looking in, there a bus every 15 minutes or so from outside the train station and drops you off within 50 yards of the place.

You never know if HS IS reading this he may ring the manager up to say he pay for  a round. :P.

Can you make it across DarkiBoy? I can always take you on a tour of any Sam pubs in York you have not been in, before we head to the Tiger.

OK , DarkieBoy.

Maybe in a few weeks we can organise a forum meetup in York for all who would like to turn up. We could make a day of it and  visit all 8 Sam's pubs in York.

Maybe I may start a new thread about it in a week or two, to see if there will be much interest in the idea.
