New managers are in Widow Cullen's Well.  An early report from a reliable source is not good.  Hopefully should find out for myself in the next few days.

Went in on Sunday.  They had run out of cask Old Brewery Bitter and the Sovereign had also gone...so not bitter at all.

The previous manager had been there about two years or so.  I have heard that they are taking a Samuel Smith's pub in Doncaster area, which is where they are from.

A few managers seem to be moving around the empire currently. Filling pubs for holiday cover, relief or just holding the pub. Some managers are now running more than one pub, surely this is against the law.They only get paid one joint salary to run two pubs.

The manager that was in Widow Cullen's Well turned out to just be a relief manager.  A new couple were due to start today....we shall see what happens.

The taste-quality of the Old Brewery Bitter (cask) was dreadful yesterday, although the pint aesthetically perfect.

The "new new managers" have been in just over a week now.  Old Brewery Bitter on cask has gone again.   Witnessed some interesting things in the first week!

Someone sang "happy birthday" last night and the lights were shut off, and that is that.  No jukebox, definitely!

Pure Brew is my recommendation for former Alpine drinkers.

Not seen a jukebox in a Sam's pub for at least the last 4 years if not a little more. The former Alpine drinkers seem to now drink the Pure Brew, but some have vahgned to bitter or stout. So Humphrey is in a win win situation.
