Christmas Menu
« on: Sep 29 - 2008 »
Dear Humprey,
My pals and I have been Sam Smiths customers at The Whipping Stocks, The Parkgate, and The Bird in Hand ( All in Cheshire ) for more years than we care to remember. Every December we have a Christmas Lunch for at least 12 people usually in The Parkgate, Over Peover. There is great merriment, excellent home made food, much customer satisfaction, and lots of Money Spent by us.
Please understand that we do not want your ...king PIE for Christmas Dinner !
Seasons Greetings to you, we will be going elsewhere.

is there going to be a christmas pie menu? that would be exciting! just imagine "this month's special, turkey & cranberry pie, with all the frozen trimmings", then in january, "turkey curry pie with military issue rice". something to look forward to. seasons greetings.

dear julius im afraid mr Smith will not listen to managers area managers or family maybe if the general public who he is really annoying wrote direct to him he might listen. i have always had a fantastic trade at Xmas on food even when the music stopped and rudolph had his nosed pushed out, but no-one will buy this crap we have lost hundreds since menu was introduced and friends have ours have seen there food trade go from ?3500 a week to a couple of hundred well if the man cant see sense in that what do we do apart from giving his family evidence to have him commited, by the way he is still brazently driving around Yorkshire full of his real ale

if you think it's quiet now, wait till december. with dark evenings and no pre-bookings, it's going to be dire.

Someone may have to correct me on this - but I do believe HS has made an exception to the singing restrictions for Christmas Eve only - which I think is something like, 10 minutes of singing allowed for Christmas carols only.  :(

Although I can't help thinking that
Always in support of the Samuel Smiths Brewery - although very concerned about the current company strategy towards its staff and customers, as exercised by the Directors. We believe in promoting common sense, decency, compassion, fairness and compliance with company, employment and English law.

We do not have the licenses in place for even spontaneous singing.

The only song is the brewery swan song.

I believe that a christmas meal can be done but only on christmas day. Therfore no pre christmas meal for me (1st time in 12 years) for me. I don't suppose mine hosts will be cooking on xmas day as its manic anyway in the pub in the two hours it opens.
