2.8% Mild on sale now.

Went into a Sams pub a few days ago and was told that they have had a delivery of the 2.8% mild and will be going on sale later this week.

Must be one of the first then, as didn't think they had got round to changing the pumps yet. Not mentioning the fact of brewing the stuff.

Was told it was delivered by mistake and it was that or nothing.

Right fair enough. I know the transport deaprtment is in turmoil at the moment with broken down lorries and rearranging drops. 2 pubs this week have already missed their normal delivery days.

I know of a pub who has some but as of yet no pumps so standing waiting for use.

All the pubs are supposed to have been sent 2.8% stickers to put on the existing pumps so the new lower abv can be used straight away

It does appear to be slowly rolling out from the brewery this week and next.

Sales of this have now really taken off in one of my locals. Not my tipple but many people are taking to it so it must be on form.

The ABV of the Mild has not changed greatly...from 3.0% to 2.8% (depending on which Mild).

Years ago, when Matthew Brown was still going strong, they made an inroad into Tyneside and they stuck 'Scotch' stickers over the Mild pumps to make sure Geordie would drink it.

Well I've tried the new 2.8 mild tonight and I have to say that I did not mind drinking it.  Nice and creamy head that stayed right down to the bottom of the glass. Been told that it is selling well. But only time will tell if it was a good move or not.
