Yes.

If we can fix a date before Xmas do you fancy a trip down to Gloucester?  My car is big enough to take 4 if not 5 adults in comfort. I never have more then one pint when driving so that is not a problem.  Can not see my wife coming so if you and DB + one goes that will make 4 intold.  It looks like we can get rooms in the Gloucester TL for under ?30 per room. So for ?60 each it looks a cheap way of knocking them off.

If we can sort it out between us we'll have to book all 3 rooms at the same time to make sure we can stay at the same hotel.

FOUR why four?

My plan was............

Day one.  Drive down via....

The Waterguard

Ye Olde Murenger House.

Check in to the hotel then a night out at...

Robert Raikes's House.

The Old Crown.

Day 2....

Drive to..

King William

Mill Inn.

Back to the hotel to park up the car then a bus to...

The Circus Bar

Then a bus back to maybe the Robert Raikes's

Day 3  Drive home via....

The Three Goats Heads

and The Abbey, Derby.

That way we can knock of nine in one go.   :P

I'm free for the next week or two.  I can go with only a days notice, It's just booking the hotel rooms at a good rate that is the problem.

You name the date and we'll go from there.

ian.

PS wife dose not went to go. That OK that means I don't have to behave myself. ;D

It looks like DarkieBoy will be too busy to join us, but not 100% sure.

When we do get a date fixed for the 3day / 2 night trip and if DrikieBoy can't come I'm willing to take anyone with use who fancy's a trip down.

But first let me set out the rules......................

The object of the trip is to visit upto 9 Sam Smith's pubs.  ;D

It will involve a lot of car travel with very few stops. Everybody in the car will wear seatbelts. ::)

You will have to book and pay for the hotel yourself. :(

And be flexible if things don't go as planned. :o

I'm not too bothered about the cost of the diesel, but if you do want to contribute it will not be refused  ;)

I just await a date from OldBreweryDrinker for when he can go.

Ian,

Bit cheeky this - but have you got any plans to snap the inside of the New Inn at Gildersome? It's pretty rare being a listed Art Deco pub - but I think when people see the interior they may be tempted to give it a visit.

Cheers,

Jim

Not cheeky at all, I've been in the New Inn twice now but both times was before I started taking photos of the insides. Next time I'm in the area I'll pop in.

Been told today of a new Sam Smiths pub that as just opened in the midlands. Told that Sams bought a closed pub, did it up and is now open. Will get more details soon.

I've just booked (5 minutes ago) on the ferry over to Amsterdam leaving tonight. If nobody minds I'll take photo of some of my favourite bars in Amsterdam and post them on the chit chat forum on Friday for members to see.

Have heard Ian that they have supposedly bought some pubs from Punch, not sure of any details though.

We will not be doing the Leeds pub crawl tomorrow. I've heard on the grapevine that  the person who we was taking around the pubs is now having to work :( . Good job I did hear or I'd have been waiting for him at Hull train station. It would have been a bloody long wait. >:(

So it's plan B, we are off the Scunthorpe to visit the 6 pubs and one clubs. I've not taken any photos  inside the Scunthorpe pubs yet, so I'll take my camera with my  :P
