No OBB when I popped into Nellie's today, but I suppose that will be like a lot of SS pubs for the next few days or weeks ... :'(

Going over to Beverley in a couple of weeks. I now have a drinkers companion in the form of a small pekingese dog. Some sams pubs let us in some dont. Do nellies let dogs in? Jim

I'd be amazed if they could see the dog it is that dark in some areas!  Can't remember if I have ever seen dogs in there.

Managers discretion at each location I believe.

Dogs are no longer allowed in, due to a few spoiling it for everyone else. It seems several visitors didn't keep control of their dogs, and apart from dog fights, people were not too pleased when eating, and having roaming dogs after their grub.

When your eyes adjust, you will notice most of us regulars, occasionally tucking in to the odd carrot. And although you won't see any dogs inside (although I don't think they've been banned from the rear courtyard - as I've seen a water bowl out there) I have seen inside, a lost hedgehog, large moths passing through, a cat, and a bat!

I always been told that Nellie's is one of the Sams pubs that is worth a visit.

However, looking at some of the comments left over the years, it seems it's not the best.

I'm thinking of going over to  Beverley on Monday.

Can anyone say what it's like at the moment, since I doubt the old comments are valid anymore?

In my opinion the White Horse is well worth a visit just for a look around, go in and explore all the rooms.   I was in there a few weeks ago and the OBB was spot on.    Saying all that I would not put it in my top 5 Samuel Smith's public houses.

Interesting to see if and when this gets done. Humphrey seems to want more of his pubs with letting rooms.

It is still a lovely SS pub, especially in winter with the coal fires lit,and small cosy rooms
The opinions that I express are my own !! A Fan of SSOB products. Time for a pint of OBB
