I have searched, probably like many of you have for any info about the Sams empire for many years now, as you will probably be aware there is very little apart from reviews about their pubs and products from private individuals or real ale fans etc etc.
No corporate website, no advertising anywhere,  hey... after all it is almost a "sole proprietor" organisation, albeit a multi billion pound one, so if he wants to keep a low profile its his money and his perogative.

However, when you treat your workforce like dogs and in the despicable manner that they have for years now, it kinda breeds an air of  pure contempt and the "dog" will eventually bite back, it will, it always will,  cos that is the nature of revenge, you remember.... that dessert that is always best served cold.

I personally am saddened that what was once a wonderful chain of public houses that sold cheap but quality beers and who always seemed to have no problems at all properly recruiting good professional management couples and reliefs, is descending into the abyss of total mis-management and is constantly allowing their valuable assets to be ran by f---ing half wits who's only reason for taking the bloody pub is that it seems to come with an endless supply of free ale and somewhere to crash out afterwards at no charge.

To get back onto my original topic, thank the lord for this site, may it blossom and spread and be a valuable sounding board and a source of support and information, dont be isolated, there are loads of us who are customers and ex-managers.

Regards

J

As a new customer of the RoeBuck at Appleton I have found the food to be good and the bar staff very friendly
all I can see from your web site is a one way view of doom and gloom. The pub I go to is clean warm and friendly what more can a customer ask for.
If you put as much time to do the good things in life as you do the bad the world would be a better place

You are obviously very fortunate.

Not all pubs are the same, or managed the same. I can only speak from my experience - but I have witnessed at my local, a steady decline in customers - and have been told by the individuals, why they no longer wish to return.

Furthermore, if you are happy eating the new ping pie' then good luck to you. My local has gone from doing a busy food trade for very many years, to selling very, very little - and some days, nothing at all. Never heard of in the past.

25 years in that pub, and now it's being ruined - and that's the view of at least 200 people at that one venue.

But if you are OK - then that's very nice for you. But just spare a thought for all the upset customers, staff and managers!!

If you are a new Sams customer you have around 20 years crap to catch up on, do you seriously think we spend precious time and effort posting/watching this site just to have a go.
These people are horrible to work for, I f-cking know cos Ive worked for them, please read through ALL the previous posts, this is certainly NOT a witchhunt. far from it!!

Think, Dickensian values, think, eighteenth century, think, exploitation, think, slave trade and you have just about got it.
Beware the toes you tread on today are not attached to the leg that supports the arse that you are gonna have to kiss tomorrow.
