Always in support of the Samuel Smiths Brewery - although very concerned about the current company strategy towards its staff and customers, as exercised by the Directors. We believe in promoting common sense, decency, compassion, fairness and compliance with company, employment and English law.

This pub is just outside the walls and opposite a large carpark.

First, the toilet are SPOTLESS.

It as 3 rooms, with a pool table in one. It also had a fruit machine.

OBB  ?1-50   Apine  ?1-75.

This pub is not far from a weathspoons,  Must admit we poped in to use the toilet.
But it was selling Batemans so we had to have a pint.

Bateman's is one of my three beers of choice (Lancaster Brewery and Cains are the others).  The quality of the Batemen's beer in my local Waterspoons (along with the other real ales) has been diabolical until February this year, after which, it's not been a bad pint at all.  Strangely enough, February is when the local CAMRA group reviews the pubs!!!

Am I being synical, I wonder??

Visited here a while ago, a lovely pub and the landlord was friendly enough and got a decent pint. Two main rooms and a pool room.
The opinions that I express are my own !! A Fan of SSOB products. Time for a pint of OBB

When I was a lot younger I used to get around the country a lot and Sam's pubs were always, always guaranteed to serve a cracking pint with no scrotes in the bar. I was never too far from a nightclub or two in those days but Sams pubs always held a special fascination for me, and none more than the "Traf".

Sheila and myself went in yesterday, straight away we got talking to the locals, while I was at the bar in fact. We enjoyed a good natter and a couple of pints , a nice place, we'll go back again.

The manager at this pub must like his horse racing, due to the number of passes hanging around the bar.

Seen a similar sign in other Sam's pubs. Adds to the character
