...it seems to be tucked away...interesting looking pub.

Would not have thought that Humphrey would sell a pub like this one in a prime location. Not heard that he normally sells any of his pubs.

It does seem unlikely as Humphrey has never sold a pub that i know of, for a long time. The only one i know of in the 70's was a training house near Middlesborough. Was sold to Bass and flattened i believe

It's not something you see very much of any more.  In the olden days many pubs would have two price lists, a cheaper one for the bar and a more expensive one for the lounge.  The reasoning behind this is that the lounge was plusher (and hence had had more money spent on it) and attracted a different and presumably better off clientele who were prepared to pay more for their drinks.

Yes years ago pubs had two price lists for the tap room and the lounge room. But only bu a few pence. Yes the people with more money often use ss pubs as a cheap night out
