It would seem that 19-20 King Street - the site of the present King William Ale House - is leased from Bristol City Council and was formerly the site of the Jolly Cobblers (which explains the subsidiary company I guess). Unfortunately for Humphrey, the council seem unwilling to agree to his demand to sell him the property, in exchange for agreeing to sort out the two empty plots he owns in Bristol on Narrow Quay and the old Seamans Chapel.
