Food Menu.
« on: Feb 22 - 2009 »
Not sure if it's true yet,but apparently some pubs are going to be allowed to put out thier own menus again instead of being forced to sell the Smiths rubbish.
Will keep you posted.

no its not quiet that straight forward, there will be different types of menus, for different establishments, it will be up to the area manager to sit down with the manager and decide what will go best, but the overall menus will still be sourced and supplied by sarahs, and sarahs have picked up a contract to supply Harvester inns with all their pies and puddings,

Please may i ask, which chain you do prefere then and we can all go there instead :-\

Is it the actual food you object too or just the idea of it, or the way it is presented to the customer?  :-\

Now that's a new one, to the best of my knowledge i cannot remember ever seeing another mention, on this site, about this claim. :o

Do you know this to be fact from personal experience or from someone who 'told you'. :-\

Has an official complaint been made to a) Pub, b) Brewery c) Manufacturer, d) Trading Standards, e) Press, etc.? ???

Because if this happens in other places eg, Tesco, Co-op, Beefeater, Two for One etc. its straight in the papers with pictures of the offended person/family group(who are all deeply distressed) usually with either a deep frown or beeming smile, offending company/article and claims for distress and compensation. :-\

Name and shame, Name and shame ???

Just heard a rumour that he's declared war on the traditional sunday lunch. No more roast beef and yorkies in Sams pubs, apparantly. Has anyone else heard it? If it is true, the man is a definately trying to destroy the business, there is no possible argument for such an insane action. Lets hope my source has got it wrong.

no you have got it right our local manager and best freind has told us that when her stock runs out next week there will be no more real roast dinners, apparently there is over ?800 of food stock in their pub that is due to go out of date in the next 6 weeks even though they have pushed SS menu people feel it is overpriced, so humph must imagine that by removing other produce customers will have no choice but to eat SS food, however they do have a choice with local hosteleries offering home-cooked real food at a decent price people will walk.

As far as I was aware, all of that went out of the window, when the new 'mainly pies only' regime came in. The sad man (Humphrey Boy) honestly believes that he is doing all of the right things, but recently on the odd rear occasion, has admitted to being wrong - however, admitting his mistake, and actually doing something about it (i.e. reversing a bad decision) is something he doesn't seem very capable of.

I suppose at the end of the day, it take a respectable 'man' to be honest enough to confess to a poorly judged decision. And a wise and strong man to redress the indecision!

Guess Humphs is just not up to the job!  :(

Well, he may not bow down to anyone in this mortal plane - but come the day he leaves this existence, he'll have plenty of time to reflect on the misery he's caused, while stoking those fires of Hell. And if - as I'm lead to believe - Humphrey is a may who practices his faith, then he should think long and hard about the way he treats his fellow man (and woman, of course).

perhaps he does feel he is invincible on this mortal plain, lets see how the tribunals deal with him this week, and as for being a good christian man, dont be silly, he is too bigoted rude surly and sneaky, as well as fabricating stories to make people look bad, i think OLD NICK would be a bit cautious admittting him to the ranks of hell.

I actually didn't mind the pies when I cooked them for myself. The relief managers never locked the fridge so I used to nuke 'em all the time and eat them for dinner.  Compared to real pub food they're total sh*t but as a "free" snack they're delish. We had the awesomest chips too.

Double standards surely? ???

Perhaps you are just a better cook/nukeerer. fancy a job? :D

Mind you anything 'free' tastes better than 'paid for'  ;)

Wonder if the relief manager was pleased come stocktake cos i know what i would have done with someones hand in the till :(

It would seem that the about turn with the ding food is continuing.
The Golden Jubilee at Yarm has a new menu starting on the 16th, not sure what it is yet but it wont be ding food, because thats been in and killed of the food trade already.
Lets hope its the start of a new beginning,  Just a little ironic that a pub that did very well with food now has to start the long arduous task of building trade back up again.

Why oh why cant they leave f--king things alone.
Beware the toes you tread on today are not attached to the leg that supports the arse that you are gonna have to kiss tomorrow.
