I hope you don't mind me saying that the Golden Ball is about 50 yards out of place on the Sam Smiths pub map.  It is just to the right of the next  (unnamed) street.

The Golden Ball is a nice pub to visit. It it on the first floor. The front room overlooks the harbour.
The back room (no bar) as no views to speck of.

Spot on, one more?

Nellies Beverley  Opposite site of Hengate and up a little bit.  I think you've done a good job of the map.

Also corrected, thank you.

DB.

PS. I'm told by one source that there is about 300 pubs and by another that there is about 400.  I've got, so far, 277 on my map!  That means I am either not far off or I've got another 100 or so to find!

Five of us (3 mates and the wife) went in here for a quick one on Friday night but ended up staying for 4 pints and the wife was on vermouths :o (she said that she didn't fancy lime and soda) Got my own back, on the the way back to our hotel for the night we took her into the local council dustmans  club.   Well the beers cheap in there :HD. Only the front upstairs room was full and had a good time in there.

Note photo #1 Scarborough pub of the year,   Can't be bad.

I must make the effort to visit this pub. I now spend my weekends in Scarborough, but tend to gravitate to the Old Scalby Mills pub at the other ends of North Bay. Great local ales, great food and good company.

I do like SS ales, but it doesn't exclude me from other pubs.

Yes, another great pub although a little expensive. The owner is often seen in the Golden Ball.

I spent a happy hour or so in the Golden Ball on Saturday (with the breadknife away for our 26th anniversary). Great pub, nice atmosphere and watching a few punters who were obviously not used to the powers of Taddy lager was hilarious!

Glad you enjoyed yourself, I was in on the evening.
Yes, you are right about the Taddy. Many folk who normally drink Fosters and such are surprised by the strength of Sam's lagers.  :HJH
Manager(s) were/are away on holiday by the way........

Shame we didn't formally meet if you were in there when we were.

We were not on holiday but took the occasion to spend a night away with a view to surprise an old mat who turned out to be on a mini-break in London. Not to worry though I had done my research and booked a B&B in walking distance from the Golden Ball - also took in several other pubs and two live bands, decent break! Tadcaster pint on the way there and York on the way home - perfect.

Yes indeed - I was evening time. Maybe next time, however, the way this forum is we may have met????

It's a great pub ( I love the place ) and you certainly planned your route back well.
