Great photos. Interesting shop next door though, wonder if Humphrey knows.  :()

Good to see different currency's behind the bar, I have seen it at other pubs, but not SS.

As you my know our Daughter travels the world and goes to some very funny counties that most people would not go to.  When I was in the Oak Tree in Catterick they have lots behind the bar and I gave them some more for the collection.

Yes the one at Catterick did have some and makes the pubs more interesting. Wonder if it is staying if the managers have left. I have quite a few, but never really thought about collecting them.

Glad that you are helping the managers Ian
The opinions that I express are my own !! A Fan of SSOB products. Time for a pint of OBB

On my coach trip down to London, I had 2 hours to Kill before travelling home last Monday. So I just had a walk around taking photos and catching blooding FLU.    Yes it was flu and not a cold.  First time ever I've had it and I don't want it again.

For the first time for ages I wandered past the Duke of Argyll last night. It's obviously having a massive refurb, scaffolding up and even a sign pointing you in the direction of the Glasshouse Stores (a number of yards away).

The pub is going to be closed for eight months, putting in a new bar upstairs, you can see plans from link below, scroll down a few pages, shows bar plans and eight staff bedrooms on upper floors.

Alreet, hows this coming along? Anyone know if it's going to have OBB on cask when it opens? Would be good to be able to get cask in Soho!

To me, it looks as though the scaffolding is holding up a corrugated iron roof, so 8 months worth of work (from March) seems reasonable.

If you're after hand pumped OBB then I suppose The Angel (other side of Charing Cross Road) could be the nearest (but doesn't count as Soho).

Do you mean The Angel at St Giles? Or another The Angel?

Yup, ECBD is quite right, I meant The Angel in St. Giles (trust me to get things wrong).

No worries, and cheers.

By photos' I thought cask OB was in the newly refurbished Fitz Tav? Could be very wrong though!

If anybody is after Cask near the west end, The Blue Posts has it, as does Chandos, The Cock, Fitzroy and Lyceum.

It did last time I was there although it was crap.

Angel at St Giles has cask too.  So does  Princess Louise and Cittie Of York both at Holborn.

Currently the Glasshouse Stores doesn't have any hand pumps, so no cask OBB there.

There's a sign outside the Duke of Argyll saying that it'll reopen in November (just in time for the Christmas drinking season ?).

The glasshouse stores hasn't had cask for at least the last 5 years I've been drinking in there. Neither does the White Horse which is always a disappointing pub
