How far is this from the center of Edinburgh. i would like to visit new years day but will need to jump in a cab. Any idea what it will cost me?

I just looked on google maps; 6 miles & 25mins in traffic so a cab will be expensive I guess. I think bus or train should be available as an alternative.

A taxi on New Year's Day will cost you probably about 20/25,here is a number for a private hire firm 0131 777 7777 hopefully they should be cheaper.Don't know if the pub will be open,I'm going to the Doo'cot today so will try and find out for you.

Also no buses go near it on New Year's Day,closest is buses to Silverknowes and then a 20/25 minute walk if you have long legs.

Interested in how the pricing works? Visited the Cramond over the festive period ... London prices!? I've only paid more than 2.08 for my pint of Taddy in London previously, I've clocked up 150 so was rather surprised although I thought it s very nice pub

Yea, there was something on here a while ago about the Scottish prices being aligned with London due to transportation and I assume other higher associated costs.

Yea, there was something on here a while ago about the Scottish prices being aligned with London due to transportation and I assume other higher associated costs.

So how much is SS prices south of Tadcaster but North of Watford ?

Cos it's a long way from Tadcaster
