For comparison, I paid ?2.20 a pint for stout in Widow Cullen's Well in Lincoln and ?3.40 in London.

Nope.  Generally the prices increase the farther from Tadcaster the pubs are.

DB.

But in North East it's still ?1.80 for OBB and the rest....wonder if you can get a drink in a London SS for under ?2.50.

I go to a bar in Ealing and pay ?2.90 for London Pride and ?2.30 for the guest beer. This is cheaper than the local Waterspoon's pub sand the beer is top-notch.

Yes, around ?1.10 a pint more expensive when I was there last June.

I remember being underwhelmed by the quality of the OBB in most of the places I visited.

Was the OBB cask or keg? It has been said the cask OBB doesn't travel well which is why we only get keg in the South West. Don't rate the keg OBB at all.

Chandos sells cask Old Brewery Bitter, so I guess that they would not sell the keg.

There is quite a few with cask OBB in London. However, when I was last there in June some of it wasn't good at all.

As a "Londoner" I would not touch it.  Stout or Sovereign for me.

I was in Chandos in the summer, I only really drink OB, will try different beers but prefer OB, would not drink Sov for a gold pig, was perfectly acceptable.  Having said that, had my first light stout in the Wortley Almshouses yesterday, more of a bitter than a stout, I reckon I could drink it all day, only drawback is it's on the weak side, but a nice drink nevertheless. I also had my first double lager in the Earl of Lonsdale the week before, a very disappointing drink, bland, tasteless, what's it for? The worst pint I have ever had was also the week before in the Glasshouse Stores, a flat pint, does not suit this ( or any bitter ) beer. Still, i'll keep trying them!
