so when your windows go through at 6am and no one answers the 24/7 number, would you not think to get the next available help?  surely thats a managerial decision?

Not very professional, but typical of managers saving Humphrey some money. Also noticed that there is a spelling mistake on the notice inside the pub. 'Samual Smith' and not Samuel Smith.

Hi all, Overheard the re-furb is due to start in January, initial work expected to take around 4 weeks with the pub still open. After that, it is shutting for a while (how long I don't know) to complete the work.

Any idea what work is taking place?  It didn't seem too bad when I went in last month.

There not doing as much as they were doing, not sure of the reason (whether its money or just the time the pubs shut for).

They are building a wall across from where the current back entrance to the yard is and putting a fireplace in to. Then moving the door round into the other new room. Not doing anything with the entrance, they were going to open it up. After that i suppose a lick of paint and new carpet. I believe they are also doing the managers flat out.

Lets hope he puts in a variation to his licence for his internal alterations, but then knowing HS he'll probably think he doesn't need to!!

Scaffolding has appeared at the back of the pub now. Apparently it's to investigate the chimney fan, using cameras to

Been in for a pint of OBB today and I have to say it was the best pint of OBB I've had in a long time.  I did take some more photos, the first 3 are not very good but I could not ask the manager to turn the lights off, could I   ;D . But I think there worth posting.

It is pretty hard to take photos of the pictures at this pub, I have tried before and not got the best results. Lovely pictures of the steam driven dray wagons.

Heard a nasty rumour that the current management couple are moving on with SS. Not sure of the reason or logic in the move. Leave that up to Humphrey.

Does this mean that the brewery tap is getting a makeover at last. It needs a bit of work doing to it.

I understand that this pub is currently shut due to much overdue makeover. Shall have to make a special trip to see what SS is doing with the pub, as the design has changed many times since the first drafts were made. This pub should be Humphreys best as it is within the brewery and should also do food. Not keen if they knock it all back to rooms again, the open feel it much better.

Wonder if they have found some new managers for the pub yet ?
