Doesn't sound very realistic in terms of length of journey or a logistics exercise. It seems silly travelling from London to there, but this is SS were talking about.

Popped in here last week to see how the refurbishment had gone.  Stairs were really nice and the two upstairs lounges were a delight - it was like being in my Mother's living room.

You can see a short You Tube video here (sorry it is a bit shaky and the clarity is not overly great, but it's my first effort):

I've not been to the Angel for ages, must pay a visit!

About the location; it's definitely not in Soho, the eastern boundary of Soho is Charing Cross Road, so the Angel misses out by a couple of hundred meters. As the address implies it's in St Giles (in fact, it's next to St Giles church) but if you want to associate it with a bigger more well known district calling it Covent Garden would be more accurate than Soho.

More great photos. Yes it is a bit out of the Soho area.

Yesterday was the first time I'd been near the Angel for at least 2 weeks and found that it was closed.  The outside sign was lit so the electricity can't have been disconnected. I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything.

Last night, from the outside, the Angel looked alive and well. Probably just a minor hiccup and all's well again.

In contrast to my earlier visit today to the Yorkshire Grey, this was fabulous. Excellent Taddy lager and a cracking, friendly young guy serving. I had three and a half, which was more than I intended to have.

Nice pub, the toilets in the small bar need a refurb.
