Cramond Inn
« on: Oct 6 - 2014 »
Hi
My local the Cramond Inn as you will know was closed for various reasons, any way it has re-opened on Friday 3rd of October and guess what !!!.They are now charging London prices for their beers,so draught has went up between 80p-?1.24 a pint and the bottles are even worse. This is a real kick in the teeth for the locals, how can they do this to us,shocking way to do business. The only people  that will welcome these prices is the other local pubs, they will be rubbing their hands.

HS's logic probably tells him that all the locals will have forgotten all about the pub and its excellent value draught prices, so as the pub's in a 'posh' suburb of Edinburgh he might as well jack up the prices in the hope that he'll attract new and high-spending punters who will be particularly attracted by the frozen boil-in-the-bag food offering, in a cosmopolitan city chock-full of decent food, not to mention a bistro on the doorstep.

And when it all goes horribly wrong, in true form he'll blame the new manager that he's taken on to manage the place for failing to increase trade, in the face of up to nearly 100% price increases and an uncompetitive food offering.

Spot on OTD.  He beggars belief.  "HS's logic" is a different animal to everyday logic of us mere mortals. :)

How do the prices compare to what is on offer locally.?

Have the scots introduced that minimum unit pricing policy that has been proposed? ?S?

Might be correct.

Minimum alcohol pricing act(Scotland) 2012. try wading through that formula and make sense of it. So it might be that fellow Salmond to blame not Humph.

Minimum pricing has not started up here, local pubs are now cheaper than the Cramond Inn,I think it's safe to say it's definitely two fingers to the locals for the issues with the license.Sorry but no excuses we have been pumped,as the saying goes :SRD

All the pints have gone up by 80p /?1.24
Example OBB was ?2.10. Now ?2.90
Wheat beer/Organic Lager was?3.10 now ?4.34
Bottles
Taddy/Oatmeal etc was ?4.10 now ?5.50
Fruit Beers was ?4.04 now ?5.34
Outrageous rise in prices.
The Doo'cot has re opened 2 miles away pints up by 40p,as I've said it's two fingers to us locals at Cramond.Thank you Very much Mr Smith.

Went past the Cramond today, well you can't just pass the pub you have to go to it. It's down a dead end street with nowhere to park once you've past it.

More photos.   It was 8-15 am so far too early for a drink.

The last photo is the view from just below the Cramond Inn.

Sorry Ian, I think some of the image database wasn't fully copied late enough to get your attachments - which means you'll have to upload them again.

Sorry about that :S*
