I have witnessed the Taddy takeover in both Manchester and York but I know the pubs in my local area will be empty if Alpine goes!

Alpine went from Widow Cullen's Well in Lincoln quite some time ago.

Please, please Mr Smith don't take Alpine away it is by far the finest lager in the land. I know this plea is likely to fall on deaf ears but all we are saying is well done keep brewing what you're brewing no critisism just acknowledement of a beer well brewed. Please keep Alpine.

I think that we should all tell him to take Alpine lager away, so then he won't!

The unique selling point of all of Sam Smiths draught and bottled beer, lager and stout is that they're different and high quality (regardless of personal taste).  Taddy is a typical provincial brewer's lager of the kind that went out of production pretty much everywhere for one simple reason: They were crap.  Alpine is different and stands well above all the so-called premium lagers like Kronenburg and Stella. My Sams local gets a lot of passing trade, most of which is suspicious of the non-recognisable products on sale - until they taste them and then ask if there's been a mistake as they've seemingly got too much change! That said, I've still seen people walk out because there's no John Smiths, Fosters, etc, and getting rid of Taddy in there won't help as Alpine is a big deal when in comes to 'converting' people.

In two Sams pubs that i go to pretty regularly, if Alpine got taken out there would be a revolt on his hands. They say that Taddy just doesn't taste as nice as Alpine.
The opinions that I express are my own !! A Fan of SSOB products. Time for a pint of OBB

Both are served in the York Arms, my wife is the only person I know who drinks Taddy but we heard a year ago that Alpine was going to be taken out.  But she has been known to drink Alpine, she says it just needs a bit of getting used to, she does like Sams cider though.
