I`ve got to agree about the headaches after drinking Taddy lager. After a night and a very good drink on alpine lager i just felt lethargic but after a night on Taddy lager the back of my head feels as if it has been hit with a cricket bat. Never had a stonking head like that before or when drinking anything else.

I reckon I'd have a headache if I drank that much of an evening, even if it did stay down. ::) Taddy is a lot stronger than Alpine. that may be a clue.

Are you refering to the old or new Alpine?

I remember years ago when Sam's sold the D Pills, the manager of my local said if you can drink 5 pints of that, you can have a free one. Not many people did it though. Was it over 6%, i forget now.

It was a magnificent 5.9%.

Spent last night drinking the proper "Ayinger Premium Pils" from Germany which is a humble 5%

Anyone tried this 10.2% stuff that SS used to brew?

The brewery also used to produce a super strong Barley Wine called 'Strong Golden' at 10.2%. This beverage is no longer available.

I`m comparing Taddy with the old Alpine Which is actually still available in my local Con club.
I was out last night and went in the Valley pub, From the photo`s which do you think was Taddy and 2.8%Alpine then look at the photo of the 1 and a 1/2 pints of 4.8% Alpine.

Why did you take the pint away from the bar?  Should have asked for a top up.

That was after been topped up and the danger with top ups in the Valley is that they wash the head off.

Should have asked for a top and why are they so reluctant to top up the beer more than the picture shows. Are they trying to take a leaf out of Humphrey's book on the extra profit margin. I would not drink there if that's there attitude to topping up pints, as it takes the pi**.  :P
