What annoys me on this forum is people who shed crocodile tears for sacked managers. However
these tears only last until the cheap beer in there glass is gone and they go back to the bar for more to further line Mr Smiths pocket.

Dick

I am so glad you are not referring to me then.

What are you suggesting? That we should all start boycotting SS pubs?

More unfounded judgmental clap-trap.

Tone

Yes, i will if you will? Enjoy your cheap beer Tone!

It's not pettiness. If you went to a shop and asked for 20 fags, and, in front of you, the person behind the counter took one out and gave you 19, would you complain? Of course you would.

If someone serves me a short pint, in a Sams or elsewhere, I want it topping up, because that is what I'm paying for. And God help anyone who refuses. I'll shop them to weights and measures pronto.
.

Here we go again...............

For the 9millionth time, you are entitled to 95% liquid, so that is 95% of a pint of liquid plus 5% head, NOT a pint of liquid plus a head. This is the industry/weights and measures guide lines, standard, the law or whatever. End of, can we move on for gods sake.....

For the millionth time...stop exaggerating :()

Hurray! Back to the topic!

Why does almost every discussion on here always return to the amount of liquid/head on a pint? SS.info's own version of Godwin's law huh?

I hope the irony of your post being off-topic itself hasn't escaped you!  ;)

...only just picked up on this one....had they been there the eleven months?  They seemed to be a nice couple when DarkieGirl, CanalDrifter and I had a pint and a meal there.

Oh yes, new pension regulations?  Perhaps they did 23 months then.

I understand that they've worked for SS for almost three years. Obviously loyalty means nothing to HS. ::H

They are a lovely couple and still not fully sure why they were sacked by Humphrey. Must have been there a good two years or so, but were at the Buckles before this. Even if you have worked at the brewery now for two years or over your job is not safe. Can think of another couple that got over the year and are now out of a job. So sad, when will Humphrey learn, managers make the pubs.
The opinions that I express are my own !! A Fan of SSOB products. Time for a pint of OBB

Just as a follow up, I met the previous manager of the Tiger in a shop in York today. Both he and his wife are now working (not in the pub trade). They have a house in York, now, and they are very happy to be out of HS's claws.

It was a hard time over last Christmas, but they came through despite HS's meanness.
