Just as a follow up, I met the previous manager of the Tiger in a shop in York today. Both he and his wife are now working (not in the pub trade). They have a house in York, now, and they are very happy to be out of HS's claws.

It was a hard time over last Christmas, but they came through despite HS's meanness.

Glad that they are both doing well, and found another job to go to.

Who are the current manages here, as I heard a nasty rumour about this pub.

Don't know. Haven't been back since the relief manager used my own tankard as a raffle ticket holder upstairs in the flat!

Took weeks to get it back off him and even then it was the bar staff that got it back for me!

Checked it out today for the first time in six months.

Turns out Tony, who I fell out with as relief manager, is long gone, not only from The Tiger, but from Sam's I am told.

The current relief management seem far more friendly and capable.

The beer was good.

The rumour that I had died was proved false!

Another rumour in the bar was that HS has bought another three pubs in Taddy. I stress, it is just bar-talk, but anyone else heard similar?

thought that was a lease, and not freehold for sale. Not sure that there are three more pubs that Humphrey could buy in Tadcaster. The Coach & Horses was bought recently, Magnets is a social club, the Social club is run by the members. Not sure about the Queens, but think it's leased.

He could reopen the White Swan, as it looked like he was chipping the mortar off a few years ago.

Coach & Horse is a none SS pub too.
It is owned by the boss of Lawtons of Tadcaster (Ford dealership).
