If the houses get built, it would give a bit of a market to the pub, if it remained.

DB.

I don't think that 80 extra houses would help at all given the obvious lack of support from the rest of the area. Housing like that tends to be dormitory housing and local amenities get ignored by the people that live in them.

I'm inclined to agree.  However, a pub with a good food offering can and will attract these people and other customers from farther afield.  Please note "good food offering"!

Aha! In my opinion, although it's sort of a meadow, better that houses are built there than other areas. Easily argued as infill And as you have said, it is good business. It all adds up / falls into place. personally wunt want to live there ( railway line ), but each to his own. It's definitely a no go as a pub.

Another opportunity for Humphrey to make a few quid. But could leave the land for a few years to mature, like much of his other land holdings.

Shall have to wait and see.

I think Tadcaster is well and truly matured, if Humph leaves it much longer it will decompose.  Come on Mr S, be proud of Tadcaster and develop it into a town fit for the 21st century, you will go down in history as a hero and saviour of the town.....

Quite agree, but can't see any progress on this front until Mr HRW Smith is out the way. At least the car park is finally sorted out, or as much as the council could do. Not sure that Mr S insurance company will like this though

Peace broke out eventually in Northern Ireland when all sides started talking, and forgave each other for past mistakes, maybe with the help of specialist assistance Selby District Council, North Yorksire County Council and the Smith family could start working together.  There is some much scope for redevelopment and ideas to work ensuring the youth of Tadcaster stay in Tadcaster which benefits the town.😎

Rumour has it that the Strawberry Tavern in liverpool has still not been opened as it has been burnt out by vandals recently. Honestly I think it's quite a bad area for a Sam Smiths pub. Knowing the area as I do it's not a pub that I'd visit
