Did you get her telephone number for me? And does she like narrowboats?

DB.

She is single, but I think she'd be too expensive for you, DB!

Does this ban mean the manager won`t be able to bring his own dog in and out via the lounge?

I asked that question too. They have a side entrance to the flat. He doesn't need to take his dog through the pub, although he does when it suits him.

if this is a knee-jerk reaction by the manager, trying to keep in with Humph and forestall a complaint, then I can understand his anxiety. But it is foolish to alienate your regulars, lose trade and put yourself in a risky position should any one of them want to see the back of him.

On the other hand, if this does come from Humph, because a new carpet is going in (that is still speculation) then why not admit it?

One of the bar staff reckons that now Humph won't employ any managers who have dogs.

I guess the truth will out eventually. Meanwhile I'll drink elsewhere in a nearer dog-friendly Old Mill Brewery pub.

My local Samuel Smith's pub allows dogs in (no carpets).

She probably would be, but can you afford her bar bills?

Been a Tiger regular for over 30 years, it's been dog-friendly for as long as I can remember, my pooch was "shown the door" last night!
Not seen Kev & Denise for a while, unless they go in through the day, when work stops play!
(She was working in The Range last time I went in)
That carpet's only about 6 years old, not 20, I only know 'cos aforementioned pooch tried to dig a hole in it when it was brand new, and she's not that old.

Situation normal.... Storm in beer glass over!

Thank gawd for that! Sophie was most displeased!

So what started the storm in the first place?

Apologies for getting the age of the carpet wrong. It just looks 20 years old!

Kev has been seen in the Brigadier Gerard. I think he's working nights at the railway station now.

I'm away for a few days any road up. We'll see what's brewing in the Tiger when I get back next week.

My two local SS pubs allow dogs in, one in all sections of the pub. The other is only in the tap room, where there is a stone floor. Seems to be a managers policy and not one always set by the brewery or Mr Smith.

Not seen Kev or Denise for a long time, hope they have sorted things out. They seemed like lovely people the many times that I met them.
The opinions that I express are my own !! A Fan of SSOB products. Time for a pint of OBB

Do they have any bitter apart from John Smith's? That's all they had on the one occasion I ventured in there.

I have dogs and that's not a daft question at all.
