OK so it was not on my way home to Yorkshire from London but I had to go and visit it and yes it was worth the few miles extra I drove to visit it. What a place, nice and friendly with big open fires and people having meals.  Only sorry that I could only stay for one, but it did take over a hour to drink it. If your anywhere nearby then visit this pub for a warn welcome.

I keep thinking I should take photos when I go... except we always go when it's dark!  ;D

I'm gutted because my friend is moving away from the area, so in a few weeks I'll have no excuse to go there any more!!

Oh, dear! Went to the Mill on Saturday evening for a nice bit o' grub; won't bother again. A sausage sandwich is a dry roll cut in half with two picnic bangers inside and a dozen fries; the cheese and pickle sandwich was two slices of dry bread, handful of grated cheese and no pickle; lasagne was just slop! What happened to the basket meals? Such a shame the management can't get to grips with what customers want. Lovely pub, too. Let's hope things will improve.

A wonderful looking pub in what appears to be a fantastic setting. Just needs some proper home cooked food to build a reputation to capitalise on the building and the brewery's excellent beers. A gold mine potentially.
I must say, what a massive waste of an opportunity. I really don't understand the theory that "one cap fits all" as far as SS food is concerned, as it absolutely doesn't. It is a big loss on what appears to be a golden opportunity to make money.
I really don't understand the strategy of SSOB management in cases like this and many other similar pubs.

WHAT A WASTE.

It's another lovely SS pub in a brilliant location. But the managers hands are tied behind their backs with regards food. This is not the only SS country pub that would be thriving if only they did proper food and not the microwave stuff that they are now forced to sell .

Is there a manager there at the moment. As I know a couple of couples that were looking at it earlier in the year.
