Not a bad place to be in a flood as long as the cellar was ok.   Many years ago I was trapped inside a pub in Scotland for 3 days  because of 9 foot of snow.

Hull last night......................

Many years ago I was trapped on the A69 with another lorry driver in a pub in Brampton village square for three days.

His name was Teddy Coggins, an old Geordie about to retire. The first night I was entertained by his fantastic stories of 50 years on the road, from being a driver's mate on Sentinals, then driving all through WW2 on hooded headlights, right up to his first sleeper cab, that was parked next to me in five feet of snow on the square.

The second night he repeated himself a fair bit.

The third night I could have throttled him!

Teddy Coggins, when we finally reached Newcastle, March 21st 1979

Sent them some photos.  We have to publicize Sams pubs don't we.   ;)

Was working in Whitby and popped in for a quick pint before heading home and nice pub but the OBB seemed watered down.

Popped in yesterday to escape an absolute horrendous rain squall. No OBB on so had Sovereign instead which wasn't too bad. No fire lit in lounge but the one in the bar was. Needed to dry off as very wet. Plenty of customers going upstairs for food. Apparently just Sunday roast, Beef or Turkey.

This time of the year I would have thought that this pub would be starting to get quieter. It's good if it's still busy for food though.Yes a pity about the obb been keg though
The opinions that I express are my own !! A Fan of SSOB products. Time for a pint of OBB

How long ago was that ECBD? It appears that many SS pubs are having the obb cask taken out.Including the Harewood Arms Hotel

Early summer.

The poster makes no mention of obb being keg that I can see. And in my opinion to take out cask is madness, unless its not selling and if its not selling you got to ask why?  The old downward spiral, don't keep it right, nobody drinks it so it goes sour and down you go.

Obb cask out sells all the draft at ours. Hope it remains so as the keg version is rubbish.

Regrettably, I don't think the the original post on this thread said cask was removed from the Jollies? So I don't know where all this has come from?
